Education Topic:

This topic will explore:
Why continuing your education — whether you go to a college, attend a trade school, or become professionally certified — is an investment in your future How you can use your military benefits and other sources to fund your education How civilian financial aid works, how you can apply for it, and how you pay it back

In this first lesson, you’ll learn how education can:
Provide skills that you’ll use for the rest of your life, no matter where you live or what job you do Help you increase your earning power Open up more possibilities for careers and jobs Think of furthering your education as an investment in yourself.

This topic will resonate well amongst this community, because it’s one of the most sought after for knowledge within the military community. One of the most common “checked” services of institutions that provide services to the military member like RP6 is either how to go back to school, or adjusting finances for educational costs (i.e. FAFSA vs Personal Loans, GI Bill, Post 9-11 funds, etc.)

Career Transitioning Topic:

In this topic we’ll provide a list of steps you can use to prepare for successful transition from the military to a civilian career. These steps include:
Completing a personal appraisal
Exploring different civilian careers
Using job search strategies
Writing your resume
Preparing for interviews
Evaluating job offers

Abstract:  There has never been a greater need for Project Management than there is today.  According to the Project Management Institute (PMI) Talent Gap Report, global industries will need approximately 15 million more project managers by 2020.  During this two-week deep-dive, learn how your military skills & training inherently set you up for project leadership success.  Gain insights into PMI standards & frameworks to leverage those skills in the corporate world, and understand how the transformational skills you’ve used for years are critical to accelerating project delivery & can set you apart. The two-week program consists of one in-person ½ day session, followed by 8-online modules of about 15 minutes each.  We’ll capstone the program with a final in-person ½ day session to bring it all together.

Along the way, you’ll have access to assessments, templates, worksheets and real-world examples of how to utilize these project management skills to position you to join a corporate workforce with maximum impact. These core skills have saved multi-million dollar projects, inspired teams, and will have you delivering your projects at the speed of business in the 21st century.
